Be Know Do - The Christian Education at Bailey's Grove Baptist Schools

Spirit is a key player in the atmosphere of the school. There ought to be an excitement and a passion that is contagious and conducive to the purpose of Bailey’s Grove Baptist Schools. The WOLVERINE is known for its DETERMINATION, and has been chosen to represent our school spirit.

We are determined. We are firmly focused on our purpose. We are resolute in that we want to honor the Lord with our lives and want to prepare ourselves to serve Him. We will not be distracted by the world or temptation (“…the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life,…” I John 2:16). Like Daniel, we have purposed to do right regardless of the consequences and the pressures of others. We are DETERMINED!!!

The Purpose of Bailey’s Grove Baptist Schools is, in one statement, to assist the parents in the preparation of each child to do the will of God for his or her life. Our desire, as a staff and faculty of Bailey’s Grove Baptist Schools, is that we may be able to assist with the training of your child to please the Lord no matter where the will of God leads them. Whether God would have a young person be a police man or pastor, missionary or mason, we want that young person ready to please the Lord.

Indoctrinate - to pass on our faith to the next generation.
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” -II Timothy 3:16

Separate - To separate our young people from the influences of those who do not hold to our Biblical faith and Christian living.
“Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord.” –II Corinthians 6:17a

Educate - to pass on to our young people the knowledge and wisdom they will need to function successfully in the modern world.
“Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you.” –Matthew 28:20a

Our goal is best stated in Psalm 145:4: "One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts."

The basic concepts of Bailey’s Grove Baptist Schools are Christian in character. We believe the Bible to be the living Word of God, and that it is our duty to teach our young people the precepts of Christian living. The highest gains in knowledge and wisdom will come as we apply Christian principles and live according to the commandments of God.

We shall endeavor to provide an atmosphere that is conducive to Christian learning. We shall strive to be examples to our young people so that they can look up to us as role models for Christian living. We shall strive to provide a place that is separated from the world and dedicated to the Christian instruction of our young people.

We believe in America and teach our young people to love their country and respect their leaders. Our rich heritage of freedom was bought with a price. Our young people are taught not only our great history, but the price and the responsibilities that go along with being a citizen in a free country.

We believe that young people should be taught self-discipline, respect for others, respect for property, and honor for elders and positions of authority. Respect for laws, rules, and principles of morality and conduct should never be side-stepped. Developing Christian values is vital if our school is to successfully educate young people. The challenges that lie ahead for today’s youth require adults whose moral and spiritual values form the basis for their judgments.

After hearing a straightforward message about the reality of hell as a six year old, Mrs. Jacque Swartz was led to Christ by her mother in Franklin, Indiana, where the family lived a short while. She grew up in a Christian home and was blessed to attend soul winning Baptist churches all of her life. She graduated from Midwestern Baptist Academy in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1986, then went on to Hyles-Anderson College where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education with teaching fields in English and music. She met her husband Jeff Swartz at college. They married in August of 1990, and graduated together from college in May of 1991. The Swartzes have two daughters and one son. Their family started attending Bailey's Grove Baptist Church in June of 2008. They believe in our church and school so much that they drive from Greensboro every day to have their family involved.

Mrs. Swartz teaches high school English, high school choir, and gives private piano lessons. On Wednesday evenings, she assists in Patch the Pirate Club; and on Sundays, she participates in the adult choir, special music, and is one of the pianists.

I was saved November 13, 2008. I teach the 5th & 6th grades at Bailey's Grove Baptist Schools. A sermon preached in college chapel prompted me to make sure of my salvation. I grew up in the Washington D.C. area. I graduated from Hyles Anderson College in 2011 majoring in Secondary Education in math and homemaking. God led me to BGBS in 2012.

Dawn Williams grew up in a home where her family was acitvely involved in church. She attended a Christian school her whole life. Dawn graduated from Hyles-Anderson College in May of 2011. Dawn received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. Dawn came to Bailey's Grove in the fall of 2011 and has been teaching in the school ever since.

Dawn is very involved in the church. She works in the nursery, teaches a second grade girl's Sunday school class, sings in the choir, works in the beginner department, and works on a bus route. Dawn is so thankful for the opportunity to serve at Bailey's Grove Baptist Church.

School History coming soon.
